Day 2 - Auckland - Rotorua
Scenic drive • Hobbiton • Waitomo Caves • Rotorua evening experience
Morning - Departure from Auckland
Pickup from your hotel in Auckland at 7:30am and proceed towards Rotorua. We will first stop at the Hobbiton Village for a guided tour exploring the picturesque Hobbit Holes with detailed interiors and tales of filmmaking with a toast at the Green Dragon Inn followed by a traditional Hobbiton lunch.
Afternoon - Waitomo Glowworm Caves
Afterwards we proceed to the Glow Worm Caves in Waitomo, famous in New Zealand, features bioluminescent larvae of the Arachnocampa luminosa gnat, creating magical "starry" ceilings in dark, damp limestone caves. These larvae hang sticky silk threads to catch insects, using their blue-green light as a lure, with boat tours offering silent, unforgettable views of the galaxy-like spectacle and unique limestone formations.
Evening - Arrival in Rotorua
Then we proceed to Rotorua, a vibrant city on New Zealand's North Island, famous globally for its unique geothermal wonders like geysers, bubbling mud pools, and hot springs, set amidst stunning lakes and lush forests, making it a prime spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers. It's also a significant center for Māori culture, offering authentic cultural experiences, art, and history, alongside adventure sports and wellness retreats.
Once we checked into your hotel in Rotorua we will take some time to refresh and get into your dinner attire and proceed to Skyline Rotorua on Mt. Ngongotaha, offering stunning views via a gondola for Premium Buffet Dining at the Stratosfare Restaurant.
Day 3 - Rotorua
Morning - Exploring Rotorua
After a relaxed breakfast we will explore a little bit more in Rotorua before heading to Taupo. We continue take a short drive around Rotorua Gardens and the Geo Thermal Park and then to the famous AgroDome experience offering an interactive New Zealand farm experience with a popular live farm show and a guided farm tour on its 350-acre working farm, allowing visitors to see sheep shearing, watch sheepdogs work, hand-feed various animals (sheep, alpacas, deer), and explore the farm via an all-terrain tractor.
Afternoon - Redwoods Treewalk
Afterwards we will explore ‘The Redwoods Treewalk’ in Rotorua, A 700-meter-long, eco-suspended walkway featuring 28 bridges linking 27 giant redwood trees, offering a unique bird's-eye view up to 20 meters off the forest floor, providing a low-adrenaline, all-weather experience suitable for most ages and abilities.
Evening - Māori Cultural Experience
Conclude the day by immersing yourself in the Mitai Maori Cultural Experience and savoring a traditional Maori Hangi Dinner, offering a taste of authentic indigenous cuisine, before retiring for the night in Rotorua, filled with memories of a day well spent.
Day 4 - TAUPŌ

Morning – Journey to Taupō & Scenic Flight
After a hearty breakfast, we begin our approximately two-hour journey towards Taupō. Upon arrival, we stop in the town centre for refreshments before heading to the shores of Lake Taupō. Here, enjoy an unforgettable floatplane experience, offering breathtaking aerial views over the lake, surrounding geothermal landscapes, and Tongariro National Park. Experience the unique thrill of taking off and landing on water in a floatplane.
Afternoon – Exploring Taupō Lakeside
Following the flight, enjoy time exploring more of Taupō at a relaxed pace. Stroll along the lakeside, capture scenic photographs of New Zealand’s largest lake, and sample local cuisine while soaking in the laid-back atmosphere of this popular lakeside town.
Evening – Return Journey to Auckland
In the late afternoon, we begin our three-hour journey back to Auckland, stopping in the charming town of Tirau for a coffee break along the way. We then continue the remainder of our journey, arriving back in Auckland to settle in for the night.
Day 5 - WEllington - The Capital of New Zealand

Morning – Flight to Wellington
We begin the day with a short flight on Air New Zealand to Wellington, New Zealand’s compact and character-filled capital city, located at the southern tip of the North Island. Known for its creative energy, coastal setting, and famously breezy weather, Wellington offers a vibrant blend of politics, culture, and natural beauty.
Afternoon – Exploring the Capital
As the seat of government since 1865, Wellington is home to many of the country’s most significant landmarks. Visit the iconic Beehive, explore the historic Parliament buildings and Library, and see nearby sites such as Bowen House. Continue on to Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, where interactive exhibits bring New Zealand’s history, culture, and natural environment to life.
Evening – Wellington Waterfront Experience
Later in the day, enjoy a relaxed walk along Wellington’s scenic waterfront, taking in harbour views and the lively atmosphere of the city. Experience the charm of the “Windy City” as the day winds down, with time to explore the local surroundings before settling in for the evening.
Day 6 - Christchurch (South Island)

Morning – Flight to the South Island
After breakfast, we take a short domestic flight with Air New Zealand, flying across the scenic Cook Strait — the stretch of water that separates New Zealand’s North and South Islands. Enjoy aerial views as we travel south, arriving in Christchurch, the gateway to the South Island.
Afternoon – Exploring Christchurch
Upon arrival and hotel check-in, enjoy a relaxed exploration of Christchurch’s revitalised city centre and surrounding areas. Known as the “Garden City,” Christchurch blends historic charm with modern design, offering leafy streets, riverside walks, and a welcoming atmosphere ideal for an easy-paced afternoon.
Evening – Tram Dining Experience
In the evening, enjoy an exclusive fine dining experience aboard the historic Christchurch Tram restaurant. As you dine, the tram loops through the city’s historic streets, offering a unique way to see Christchurch’s landmarks while enjoying a memorable meal to conclude the day.
Day 7 - Tekapo

Morning – Journey to Tekapo
Today, we continue our approximately 3.5-hour journey south to Lake Tekapo, arriving in the small alpine town of Tekapo. Surrounded by the dramatic, snow-capped Southern Alps, Tekapo is renowned for its striking milky-turquoise waters — a natural phenomenon caused by fine glacial flour suspended in the lake.
Afternoon – Exploring Tekapo
Spend the afternoon exploring this premier South Island destination at a relaxed pace. Visit the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, take in panoramic lakeside views, and, in season, admire the vibrant summer lupin fields that add bursts of colour to the landscape. There’s time for scenic photography and quiet moments to enjoy the alpine atmosphere.
Evening – Dark Sky Experience
As night falls, Tekapo reveals one of its greatest highlights. Located within the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, the region offers world-class stargazing conditions. Gaze up at pitch-dark skies and witness the Milky Way in stunning clarity — a truly unforgettable end to the day.

Day 8 - Queenstown

Today, we continue our journey further south on an approximately 3.5-hour scenic drive to Queenstown. Travelling along extended scenic routes, pass crystal-clear lakes, sweeping valleys, and dramatic hillsides, with regular stops along the way for photo opportunities and to enjoy the crisp South Island alpine air.
Afternoon – Arrival in Queenstown
Set on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and framed by the majestic Southern Alps, Queenstown is one of New Zealand’s most iconic alpine resort towns. Known as the “Adventure Capital of the World,” the town offers breathtaking scenery year-round, alongside a rich history dating back to the 1860s gold rush era. Enjoy time to explore the vibrant town centre and lakeside surroundings.
Evening – Gondola & Skyline Dining
In the evening, take a scenic gondola ride up Bob's Peak, where panoramic views stretch across Queenstown and the surrounding mountains. Finish the day with an exquisite dining experience at Stratosfare Restaurant, where refined cuisine meets unforgettable alpine views.
Day 9 - Milford Sound COACH · CRUISE · FLY

Afternoon – Lake Wakatipu Cruise & Farm Visit
Later, enjoy a 45-minute cruise aboard the iconic TSS Earnslaw, a beautifully restored 1912 coal-fired steamship. Cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm, located on the southwestern shores of the lake.
On arrival, take a guided tour of the historic farm, offering a glimpse into New Zealand’s rural high-country lifestyle, set against a stunning lakeside backdrop.
Gourmet Farm Lunch & Return Cruise

After breakfast, we depart Queenstown and begin our scenic five-hour drive to Franz Josef. Travel through landscapes shaped by New Zealand’s gold-rush history, stopping at the historic Cardrona Hotel, built in the 1860s, for a coffee break and photo opportunity while soaking in the atmosphere of a bygone era.
Afternoon – Lakes, Mountains & Wanaka
We continue our journey with a stop at the picturesque town of Wānaka, located on the shores of the stunning Lake Wānaka. Known for its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding alpine peaks, the lake is one of New Zealand’s most photographed natural landmarks. Enjoy time to capture photos and take in the serene beauty before continuing west.

Day 12 - Franz josef glacier

Morning – Glacier Helicopter Experience
This morning, explore the dramatic landscapes of Franz Josef Glacier with a breathtaking glacier helicopter experience. Following the flight, take a guided stroll to view the glacier from ground level, witnessing its immense scale up close.
Afternoon – Discovering the Glacier Environment
Franz Josef Glacier, also known as Kā Roimata o Hine Hukatere, is a remarkable 12-kilometre-long temperate maritime glacier located within Westland Tai Poutini National Park. Famous for flowing from the Southern Alps to less than 300 metres above sea level, the glacier descends into temperate rainforest, creating a rare and constantly changing natural landscape. Take time to appreciate the dramatic ice formations and surrounding scenery.
Evening – Relax & Unwind
After returning from the glacier, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Relax in the peaceful surroundings of Franz Josef, soak in the tranquil rainforest atmosphere, and reflect on one of New Zealand’s most unique natural experiences.
Day 13 - Greymouth

Morning – Journey Along the West Coast
Today, we travel north along New Zealand’s rugged West Coast, making our way toward Greymouth. En route, we stop in the charming town of Hokitika, known for its strong connection to nature, history, and local craftsmanship.
Afternoon – West Coast Treetop Walk
In Hokitika, enjoy a visit to the renowned West Coast Treetop Walk, a unique experience that takes you high above the forest floor. Walk among the treetops on elevated platforms and suspension bridges, offering a peaceful perspective of the native rainforest canopy and surrounding landscapes.
Afterwards, continue on to Greymouth and settle into the town, which sits at the mouth of the Grey River and serves as a gateway to the West Coast.
Evening – Relaxed West Coast Evening
The evening is kept intentionally relaxed. Enjoy a quiet stroll, a casual dinner, or time to unwind after several adventure-filled days, soaking in the laid-back atmosphere of this coastal region.
Day 14 - Graymouth - christchurch

Morning – TranzAlpine Scenic Rail Journey
After breakfast in Greymouth, board the iconic TranzAlpine Train for one of the world’s great rail journeys. Travel across the South Island on a four-hour scenic route, crossing river valleys, alpine passes, and dramatic mountain landscapes as you journey from the West Coast back to Christchurch. Enjoy panoramic views and onboard dining as the scenery unfolds.
Please note: The TranzAlpine Train operates on a limited schedule during the winter months (June–September).
Afternoon – Scenic Drive via Arthur’s Pass (Seasonal Alternative)
When the train service is unavailable, enjoy an equally breathtaking scenic drive to Christchurch via Arthur’s Pass. This route winds through rugged alpine terrain, river gorges, and mountain valleys. Stop for lunch at Grasmere Lodge, set in a tranquil alpine setting, before continuing across the Southern Alps.
Evening – Arrival in Christchurch
Arrive back in Christchurch later in the day and settle in for the evening. This marks the conclusion of an unforgettable journey through New Zealand’s diverse landscapes, from alpine peaks and glaciers to lakes, forests, and coastlines.
Day 15 - Day of departure and farewell

- Accommodation is subject to availability. If needed, NPH may substitute with an equivalent standard in the same region.
- Activities may be replaced with a suitable alternative due to weather, operational constraints, safety, or supplier availability.
- International flights are not included unless explicitly stated in writing by NPH.
- Domestic flights included (if stated) are subject to airline schedules and availability.
- You are responsible for ensuring valid passports, visas (if required), and any required travel documents.
